This page offers a look back at my photography projects in Northeast Texas and the Dallas area. Although I’m no longer actively running my business, I’m happy to share a retrospective of my work. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to cover weddings, graduations, real estate, and family portraits—each experience helping me grow and refine my craft.
2015 - 2019
Wedding Photography – Capturing Genuine Moments
Weddings were always a special part of my career because every celebration is unique and full of unscripted moments. I loved being part of a day where the atmosphere was so electric, yet so intimate, and I always aimed to document that balance. I focused on blending into the background to capture the real moments that unfolded naturally. Whether it was a quiet glance exchanged between the couple or a burst of laughter during the reception, I tried to keep my presence as unobtrusive as possible so that I could capture the event in its most authentic form.
I also made sure to create a few well-planned portraits during these events. I guided couples into relaxed poses that didn’t feel forced, striving for images that communicated genuine emotion rather than the formality of a staged photo. I still remember the satisfaction of capturing the subtle expressions—the way the light played off the details of the décor or how a shared smile could say more than words ever could. Those moments were a true reflection of the day’s emotions, and they taught me the importance of both planning and spontaneity in my work.
Graduation Photography – Celebrating Milestones
Graduation days are filled with both excitement and a touch of bittersweet emotion, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. I had the privilege of capturing many of these moments, and each session was a reminder of how significant these milestones can be. I approached every graduation shoot with the intention of reflecting the personality and achievements of the graduate. I remember encouraging my clients to be themselves, whether that meant a relaxed, fun session outdoors or a more polished look in a classic setting.
The goal was always to create a relaxed atmosphere where the natural energy and pride of the moment could shine through. I believe that graduation photos should capture the mix of anticipation, joy, and even a little nostalgia that comes with saying goodbye to a familiar chapter in life. Looking back, I appreciate how these projects helped me connect with people at such an important time in their lives and allowed me to create images that are both timeless and personal.
Family Portraits & Personal Sessions – Embracing Real Connections
Family and personal portraits have a very special place in my portfolio because they capture the everyday beauty of real connections. In these sessions, I always tried to create an environment where everyone could feel at ease and simply be themselves. Rather than relying on stiff, formal poses, I focused on letting families interact naturally, capturing the laughter, gentle touches, and spontaneous moments that truly define a family’s bond.
It was important to me that every session felt comfortable and genuine, as I believe that the best portraits are the ones where people are relaxed and unguarded. Whether it was a simple family session in a park or an intimate portrait shoot at home, I aimed to capture moments that would serve as a lasting reminder of the relationships and emotions shared during that time. These sessions are a quiet celebration of everyday life—a record of moments that might seem small but are filled with meaning.
Real Estate Photography – Showcasing Unique Spaces
Real estate photography presented a different kind of challenge altogether. It wasn’t just about making a house look pretty; it was about highlighting the features of a space in a way that made it inviting and true to life. I spent a lot of time thinking about how best to compose each shot, whether I was working with a cozy home or a more expansive commercial property. Using natural light and paying attention to every detail, I aimed to show each property in a realistic yet attractive way.
The process of capturing real estate is a blend of technical skill and an artistic eye for detail. I found that the right angle or a well-timed shot could really bring out the character of a room, making the space feel both warm and inviting. My work in real estate taught me a great deal about the interplay of light and shadow, and how a thoughtful composition can transform a simple room into a compelling visual story. Even though this work was more utilitarian compared to weddings or portraits, it was equally satisfying to know that my photos could help someone see the potential in a space.
The Creative Process – Keeping It Simple and Genuine
Every shoot followed a process that was both straightforward and tailored to the unique demands of the project. I always began by sitting down with my clients to discuss their vision, whether it was for a wedding, a graduation, or a real estate shoot. This initial conversation helped me understand what they were looking for and allowed me to plan accordingly. It was important for me to set clear expectations and make sure that everyone felt comfortable with the plan.
On the day of the shoot, I made it a point to keep the atmosphere relaxed. I mixed a few planned, posed shots with plenty of candid moments, always striving to capture the natural essence of the event. After the shoot, I spent time carefully editing each image, enhancing the natural beauty of the scene without overdoing it. The goal was always to maintain the authenticity of the moment while ensuring that every detail was as clear and inviting as possible. Finally, I delivered high-resolution images that clients could cherish for years to come.
Reflecting on My Journey
Looking back on my photography journey, I’m filled with gratitude for every project that allowed me to learn and grow. Each shoot, whether it was a lively wedding or a quiet family portrait, taught me something new about light, composition, and the art of storytelling through images. These experiences have shaped the way I see the world, and while I’m not actively taking on new projects, I find it rewarding to reflect on the body of work that I’ve built over the years.
Every photograph in this archive represents not just a moment in time, but a part of my journey as a photographer. It’s a record of experiences that have influenced my perspective on creativity and the importance of capturing life as it is—raw, unfiltered, and deeply personal. I hope that as you look through these images, you can sense the care and thoughtfulness that went into each shot. This retrospective isn’t meant to boast about my achievements, but rather to share a genuine look back at the work that helped me grow and that continues to inspire me today.
